The Society will be called the Stubbington and Hill Head History Society.

The aims of the Society will be to promote interest and enjoyment of History and instigate research into Local History whilst encouraging meetings and discussions between persons interested in such matters.

The membership subscription will run from 1st January to 31st December and will be reviewed on an annual basis by the Committee and reported to the Annual General Meeting.

The Committee will consist of a President, Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and four other elected members with the option to co-opt 2 members.

The Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and the other elected members will be elected annually at the Annual General Meeting.

The Chairman will not hold office for more than 3 years in succession. Nominations for the Committee should be received by the Secretary 14 days before the Annual General Meeting.

The Committee may appoint a sub-committee for necessary purposes which will be accountable and report back to the Committee.

An Extraordinary General Meeting may be called with a quorum of at least one quarter of the membership. Any changes in the Constitution will require a two-thirds majority of members present.

Guests will be permitted at meetings on payment of a visitor's fee which will be reviewed annually by the Committee and reported to the AGM.

Guests will be permitted to attend the AGM but will have no voting rights.

In the unlikely event that it is decided, by the Committee or any other caucus of members, that the Stubbington and Hill Head History Society shall be dissolved for any reason, an Emergency General Meeting will be called, inviting as many members as possible whose home or email addresses can be found, giving at least 30 days notice.

If the proposal is confirmed by a two-thirds majority of those present the Committee shall have power to realise any assets held by the Society.

Any assets remaining after the satisfaction of any proper debts and liabilities shall be given to any other organisation having similar objects or, failing that, shall be donated to an agreed charity
